Concept Car: Subd exercise

This started as SubD exercise in Alias over a few weekends. No detailed sketches, no clear direction just experimenting and iterating with the tool to see where it would go. 

While learning with the tool some inspiration came to me, and few revisions later eventually turned into this car.

The design pulls different references I had in mind every time I opened the file, I started thinking in Gérard Welter’s Peugeot Quasar and Proxima, early Mercedes concepts from the 80s and 2000s and later on the process the Maserati Birdcage. These influenced the design, though the final result found its own direction.


Technical approach: The car body was entirely made using SubD in Alias, and for wheels and lamps were quickly made using NURBS. 
Rendered in KeyShot with post-production in Photoshop. Desert images were made using AI with Seedream 4.0 for relighting and background change.
